TOWN FOCUS: HARPENDEN

First things first I love Harpenden, for me it is the ideal place to live. That’s why after a (strategically placed) coffee meeting in Harpenden, I decided to stay on and explore the town. It was a lovely bright spring day, so of course Harpenden looked like a dream!

Harpenden never fails to amaze me. It’s a growing town but still feels like a village, a very chic one. Harpenden is home to quaint boutique shops, family owned cafes and restaurants, and endless places where you can beautify yourself.

I heard that the local council fought hard to prevent too many big chain stores from opening to support local business owners.

For those of you that don’t want to be stuck indoors, Harpenden has some beautiful green areas, such as Lydekker Park, Harpenden Commons and Southdown Ponds and golf, cricket and horse riding clubs, to name a few.

Harpenden’s beautiful scenery is home to Craig Charles from Red Dwarf and Coronation Street. It was also one of locations for the set of the recent film Suffragette, released in 2015.

Harpenden has a strong business community, who like to support each other. Just like we do on a Monday night! #HertsHour
